Chickens in the garden

In Belgium, municipalities offer chickens to residents to reduce the amount of organic waste.
Velt, as an organization that stands for sustainability and the preservation of ecology, uses this book to respond to this trend by ensuring it is done in a sustainable and ecologically responsible manner.

Bundled knowledge and years of practical experience from the members of this organization make this a book that everyone should read if they already have chickens or are planning to keep them.

Extensive explanations on various topics, referrals to addresses/organizations for advice, purchasing local breeds, organic chickens, the availability of organic feed, and even museums.

This book is also a passionate plea for the preservation of (endangered) local breeds that are increasingly fading into the background with the rise of hybrid production breeds.
The advice/quote below regarding the specific choice of purchasing organically raised chickens clearly indicates the spirit in which this book was written.

So, when you consciously choose organic chickens, you can be certain that these chickens have led a chicken-worthy existence up to that point.
